Speed Limit
Might seem a daft question BUT are cyclists exempt from the speed limit

Apart from places like shred pavements where a local bye-law might be passed to restrict them then no. However there is a charge of 'riding furiously' http://road.cc/content/news/98005-man-court-wanton-and-furious%E2%80%99-cycling-charge

I can't see anything in the highway code (unless I need to go to specsavers):

I don't know about public roads but a colleague got caught speeding on his bike by the MOD Plod, he wore it as a badge of honour until he was informed that he wasn't allowed his bike on site for a month.......it was a very large site and walking everywhere was a pain in the bum.....Oh how we all laughed at him :-)
