Anybody can bid unless you state that its for UK only. I don't know how much the item will cost your talking about to post, but think you should e-mail them and let them know first if its expensive.
yes there's a bit in the listing setup where you say where you will post to. if you only stated one p and p and did not specify that was p and p within the UK, you may be stuck with taking the hit and posting the item. unfortunately "i did not know" cuts no ice.

I have looked at the listings where the drop down box is and the only postage option is UK
sorry, they've changed how you do it
Specifying where you'll post to

You can exclude certain regions or countries from the places you're willing to post to.

To exclude certain locations:
Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may need to sign in.
Place your pointer over the Account tab and click Site Preferences.
Click Show to see the Postage and packaging preferences section.
Click Edit next to the Exclude postage locations from your listings option.
On the next page, select regions and countries where you don't want to post your items. If you only want to select certain countries in a continent, click Show all countries link next to that continent's name.
If you want to apply these exclusions to your current listings, select the Apply to all current live listings option.
Once you're finished, click the Apply button.

thank you I think I have done it all now
If they didn't ask how much the postage will be they will probably expect to pay what you ask. I suggest you contact them and tell them the postage and ask if they still want to buy. UK ebay items are often a lot cheaper than they are abroad so foreign buyers are often quite happoy to pay the postage costs. I know because it is usually cheaper(inc. postage) for me to buy from the UK than in France where I live.
