There's a question, 'What is you housing status?' There's a drop down menu of 3 choices. 1 council and housing association tenant. 2 private tenant 3 Owner occupier.
What is the correct status to put for someone who lives with a relative?

I would say Private Tenant
Question Author
OK. TY
it depends on whether you pay rent
P T I would definitely expect to pay rent and have a lease

presumably the relative owns the house ....

if they query it say that thre was no space for unsecured licensee

Private tenant looks good to me.
We often come across this issue on forms and suchlike. We live in a house owned by my FIL, but don't pay rent. I usually put down Private Tenant.

She lives with me and pays no rent. No matter, because I see her pensions put her above the threshold for claiming credit.
