Trying To Find Out The Name Of A Bursitis Operation

is was c. 1975.
First I had unsuccessful tiny cortisone injections in the elbow.These were followed by an injection with a long needle into the elbow joint.
Pain persisted so the surgeon recommended an operation he was trying to resurrect or re-popularise and I think it was called Garden's or Golden's operation or somesuch. He said it was safer than operating at the elbow (and moving a nerve?).
The arm was opened near the wrist and a tendon diagonally sliced right through. The tendon was then re-sewn slightly offset so as to make it effectively longer. This took pressure off the nerve at the elbow.
The op was a complete success.
Mr R Merryweather of Gloucester, (now dead) was the surgeon.
