hi
i am currently working for an agency, for the first 12 weeeks of my assignment i was on an hourly rate of 6.31 per hour which rose up to 9.02 on 1st march.
i have now been informed that any holiday hours accrues before the 1st march will only be paid out at the 6.31 rate - is this rate or are the agency ripping me off
many thanks for your replies and the link to the website - i did believe it made sense however the agrncy i work for are prone to misguiding us with information (thats when they acctually communicate with us)
i work for agency and my holiday pay is calculated as a % of what ever rate I earned . So 10 hours at £6.31 total £63.10 gets me 10% as holiday pay £6.31.
If I earned £9.02 an hour I'd get £0.90 an hour holiday pay.
Your agency is correct. The £6.31 rate gets £0,63 holiday pay and the £9.02 rate gets £0.90 holiday pay.
I don't directly get holiday pay, eddie- the agency say it's built into the daily rate (just under 11%), but as the pay rates seem to be the same as they were 5 years ago I'm not convinced. Fortunately it's well above minimum wage but if it weren't I suppose they'd have to pay minimum wage + the 11% holiday pay supplement
