Is there another way to spell Dostoyevsky? or has Michael made a booboo

Well I have spelt it - Dostoyvsky - Think he has made a booboo though because I have not seen it spelt that way.

Dostoevsky - Dostoyevsky - Dostoevski - Dostoyevski

No booboo, usual michael cunning. Dostoevsky is what I've settled for as the others fit around it.

Chambers Biographical Dictionary gives it as Dostoevsky but says it can also be spelt Dostoyevsky. His biographers also spell it Dostoevsky and, as ghs says, this is the one which fits the other letters.

Well there is only one correct spelling - but it's in the cyrillic alphabet.

Depending on whether you render it into the latin alphabet phonetically or by letter for letter substitution - and if the latter which scheme of substitution you use - you can have numerous English spellings. Take what fits, as others have said.
