There is one style of music that annoys me above all else with its guarentee of removing any last vestige of interest, rythm and meaning from any piece of music - it's (aaargh!) Pan Pipes! Does anyone else suffer from this instant contempt / hatred reaction when their pointless warbling strangles yet another classic, or is it just me?

I agree with you about the pan pipes but what I can't stand is really 'whiny country & western' like Dolly Parton and co., that sort of stuff makes my ears bleed!

A heinous musical development that invokes the same reaction in me as someone running their nails down a blackboard, is people like Beyonce Knowles and other divas like Maria Carey, who reach a parts of their songs and go into free-from caterwauling mode. Singing about 12 notes when they only need one!
