This has been bugging me for weeks! Is it any surprise that the highest number of votes in the latest featured poll (do you consider your pets when buying a car?) is for 'No' - because they don't have pets! What exactly is the point of that answer?

Lankeela, I suspect the poll might be sponsored....I thought it was pretty silly too.
I didn't consider my budgie or my cat, they would rarely be in the car!
It's just to differentiate between those that don't consider them and those that don't have them?
we always make sure there is enough room for two dogs when at the car showroom, unfortunately I have lost my hubby and both dogs within a ten month period, I am now looking to buy a much smaller car to suit my present needs.
... and what about all the flies and bugs regularly transported on windscreens and headlights?
polls are stupid. there are never spaces to put in what applies to you. just the spaces they want an answer for.
I think it's a good idea to have that option, although it depends on what the pollster is trying to find out It allows whoever is analysing the results to distinguish between those who say 'No' because they don't have a pet and those that have a pet and choose the No option. I don't have a pet but without that option I'd have chosen No- which may or may not have been helpful depending on what the data is wanted for.
But I also agree that polls like this are meaningless.
There was a recent Facebook poll about Fracking- are you for or against. The vast majority were against- but it was a leading question and the Against campaigners rallied the troops via Facebook whereas what was probably the silent majority may not even have been aware the poll existed or didn't feel strongly enough to bother
Surely it's only dog owners that consider their pets when they buy a car.
