Smoking Cessation Medication

I have just been prescribed medication as an aid to quit smoking. I don't recall the exact name but it begins with a C I believe. Whilst I had the willpower and just needed an extra helping hand before I started taking it, I am now smoking more although this is only my third day of a 2 week course. Has anyone else experienced this effect ?

I thought these medications were to help you not to smoke. Stop smoking altogether and see how you get along.

From the NHS advice re Champix,if this is the drug you are on

You should set a date on which you will stop smoking and start taking this medicine one to two weeks beforehand. This is because the medicine needs time to start working.

It is usual with this drug to have a 12 week course
