Poor Healing Skin
6 Answers
Hi, my skin heals very very slowly and scars easily. I thought this would've improved after I quit smoking (over 2 years ago) - I eat a pretty healthy diet and drink lots (not too much of it is alcoholic!). Can anyone suggest any lotions/potions etc that may help? Cheers

If the scars are older (no open wounds or scabs) you could try some gentle exfoliation and cream which helps regnerate the skin, many anti ageing creams these days have those kind of skin renewal properties.
I've heard silicone gel can be very helpful and products like bio oil, you can get the latter from any chemist.
For something more natural you could try 3 drops of lavender essential oil with I teaspoon of a carrier oil like grape seed oil applied twice a day.
Arnica is good for any bruising.
Make sure your immune system is as good as it can be so your body can regenerate to the best of its ability.
There are more serious (and expensive) ways such as dermabrasion and laser surgery or collagen for sunken scars.
