Can anyone on Answerbank I buy this Unibond Sealant from B & Q, but I don't always use it all.
Question, how do I stop the sealant from going hard inside the tube, it always does with me I put the cap on the top of the sealant and stand it upright???

Thankyou for any help.

Unscrew nozzle add a piece of clingfilm, put nozzle back on. Helps slow down the curing process in the main tube. Clean the nozzle out and keep an old one to put on. The main tube will eventually harden come what may.

Wish I knew the answer! I use electrical tape to tightly seal off the end of the nozzle, which should provide a water-tight and air-tight seal. But over time the sealant still hardens. If I'm lucky, I can poke out the hardened sealant from the nozzle, and use what's still in the tube. But leave it too long and I have to dump it and go buy yet another tube. Grrr!
I don't think you can keep it indefinitely. I used to put the cap on every time, last time I just let the top bit "harden" and to too honest on next use I just pulled the hard top bit away and that underneath was fine. I suspect if you are using the rest within weeks, maybe months, it mattters little. If you wish to keep it for years you are probably better off slinging it and saving the space.
...to be honest...
sigh
If you can find a screw the right size, coat it with Vaseline and screw it into the nozzle. This won't stop the hardening process but it slow it down.
Screw, hardening........dirty boy!
You forgot to bring up the Vaseline part, Sipowicz:)
It slipped my mind!
