Last couple of days gear change a bit iffy, had to force it into gear instead of usual easy change, today clutch 'soggy' and gear changing very difficult. Can't get it to garage until Monday, (If I get there!) This happened a couple of years ago and a new 'slave cylinder' was the problem, (whatever that is) then sorted for a while but had to have a new clutch fitted not long after that.

There's no extra revving when driving or accelerating and once the gears are engaged it drives as normal.

Any ideas?

Hi there: Suggest you give them a call but not familiar with them as I live in Cape Town! Just a thought, before you drive off to your friendly Honda garage on Monday, fill up the clutch reservoir and give the clutch pedal a few pumps before trying to engage the gears ... good luck!

Possible slave cylinder again, what's the fluid level like?
Question Author
No idea where the fluid reservoir is!!!
99% sure hydraulic problem, check slave cylinder (usually found attached to bell housing) for signs of leakage ... a straightforward fix, albeit messy!

Thanks for that Linotype, have now located clutch fluid reservoir but will have to take it to garage on Monday if I can drive it there. Just hope it wasn't the clutch or gearbox. £££££

? If I summon AA on Home Start could they fix it?

Thanks Linotype, I've been pumping the clutch before driving off but it remains sloppy.

Sound a bit like last time's hydraulic problem, many thanks for your help and concern. I'll let all of you who've helped what the outcome is.
