Stuck on last two. The first is a hymn relevant to Lent or Easter, initial letters of the first line are: JLNLN. We've tried Googling but with no success. The second is in the section "Easter season miscellany", A vessel & fritter, 8 letters. I thought about pancake - but of course that's only 7 & I don't think "cake" equates to "fritter" - I've tried working on the meaning of "waste", but no luck there either.

I have never heard the hymn but guessed the first two words and Google did the rest
Wastebin?

Thanks for that, factor-fiction. Thanks Grasscarp, but the answers have to have some relevance to the Lent/Easter period.
I know. Apart from Easter eggs, Easter bonnet, simnel cake and the resurrection I can't think of anything else!

Me neither!
I found patty as a synonym for fritter. So pattypan. And I found some pattypan squash recipes associated with Easter menus.
