A great loss. I liked her books too.
how sad, I loved Adrian Mole & Pandora.
Truly a gifted woman and though i could never quite get into the Adrian Mole story and have never read Pandora, The Queen And I was one of the funniest books i have ever read. RIP, Sue Townsend.

Pandora was the subject of adrian' s passions, lust, lurrrve ken
I heartily concur with all the sentiments expressed as I think I've read most of her books. But didn't she have some sort of medical problem during her last few years? I seem to remember reading that she was strugling with her writing around the time she produced "The Queen and I"?
I heard years ago that she was going blind but I hadn't realised that her health was so bad. RIP Sue...always enjoyed your books.
She went blind from diabetes but died of a short illness, not a long-standing one.
I went to school with two of her kids. They were awful though I hear she was lovely.
Sad news indeed. Even sadder to read about the tribulations she suffered in her final years.

RIP
I had a crush on pandora....
