I have read I should look just below the moon at 21.01 .......... is that wrong? Can you give any other directions for a novice? ie. can I look for a well known constellation? I am not sure I am confident on what W departing ESE means ............... do I just look West? (Sorry, am sure I am just an idiot!!)
MH it was 9.01 last night. Tonight it's 9.50 as Wendi says.
Will you go outside to have a look? If so you need to stand on the right hand side of the apartment block so that you can see the western sky. The ISS will appear from the west and move over the sky towards the east. It will be fairly low in the sky. Look for a continuous bright looking star, It doesn't twinkle.
I knew I must have read it wrong Tilly - thanks for your help - I will go out and look now I know where to look ............. but it will depend on how high in the sky it is as I don't have a "big sky" view and also a fair amount of light pollution, so have never seen it yet. On another matter - I shall be on the Isle of Man in a few weeks where I understand there are several dark sky sites ..... is there a website I can look at now to see if I am likely to see it then (17-24 May) .... thanks again.
