Milk

Buying milk in Switzerland and the one we buy is 2.5% , but tastes very rich and creamy. The Tesco milk we used to get in the UK was Semi Skimmed, Was this 2.5% also or less ?
At the moment I'm drinking a pint of milk day. Am I heading for heart attack central ? I'm sure I remember being told a pint of milk was good for you. Maybe a pint a day is too much.

In UK whole milk is about 3.5% and semi-skimmed about 1.5-1.8% so you are getting something inbetween. I always buy whole milk, it's got more goodness and tastes nicer (but I was brought up on gold top) and yes we we used to be told to drinka pinta milka day.

I almost live on dairy products. I drink loads of full cream milk and I often snack on cheese (consuming large amounts of it) while cooking a meal containing cheese and/or cream. So when I had my cholesterol tested last year I was expecting it to be 'off the scale'. It was actually in the very lowest category, which might suggest that the amount that consumption of dairy foods contributes to cholesterol build-up is very much an individual thing.
