there a simpson episode where homer is tellin his kids or sum other person, (i think its wen he's in the music store and he finds all the music he likes in the oldies section) neways, he seems shocked that his fav groups are in the oldies section and he ses to sumone, the name of a band, and the person hav never herd of the group, and homer says "what? u dnt kno....and he ses sum stuff like...the constant droning of...( a band member), the relentless lyrics of (sumone else)" and he ses the band members name. i am asking does anyone kno the full quote of this? and the band members etc?
www.snpp.com didn't yield any useful results for this. I can't remember this episode very well, but I remember Homer pulls a vinyl sleeve of a Styx out of the oldies box (the sleeve is black, with large white letters on it saying "Styx".
I think that's the Homerpalooza episode and he says "Nobody knows the band Grand Funk? The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Shocker? The competent drum-work of Don Brewer? Oh man!" It is the same episode were Homer pulls out a Styx record out of the oldies section, he says: "But you've got all the top bands here. Styx? I just heard them on 'The King Biscuit Flour Hour'" ....... I am getting this from a book by the way, not memory, I'm not that sad....

ur v clever lol u a m/f? usually lads kno alot bout the simpsons
-- answer removed --
'Grand Funk' being an American band of the 1970s, originally Grand Funk Railroad, who even at the time were regarded as a bit of a joke. They were a cartoon, cut'n'paste heavy heavy rawk band, put together by a Svengali-style manage I believe. Archetypal blue collar rockers - not as tuneful as Creedence, not as anything as Springsteen. But for one sublime moment of rock gold:
We're an American band,
We're an American band,
We're comin' to your town,
We'll help you party down
We're an American band.

Homer's right, no-one remembers the classics anymore ;-) Happily you can download the song *officially and legally* at the and's own website: http://www.grandfunkrailroad.com/
I'm f - husband makes me watch it.....kidding, I'd watch it anyway, best show on tv!
