Random question of the day from me -

I would call this coming Friday (25th April) "this Friday" and the following Friday (2nd May) "next Friday".

I had an interesting conversation today with a client who said that she takes "this Friday" and "next Friday" as being the 25th April.

(Are you still reading?)

Am I the only one that takes this and next as two different things?

Am I even making sense?

Does anyone else really care?

If my Mum wanted to refer to next Friday she would say "Friday week". That was pretty clear but people don`t seem to use that expression these days.
I don't know what day it is! ;-)

one very confused moment then..... :-D
Care desperately. This Friday is the coming Friday, tomorrow. Next Friday is the following Friday and on Friday is, again, this Friday. And a week on Friday is not tomorrow but at the end of next week.
i'd only say next friday on a friday
