Edema & Heart Issues

Had an ECG earlier as renal have ruled out my kidneys as the cause of the edema in my legs (up to my knees) so said I should have heart tests done.

Doctor said they needed to do the ECG before sending me for an "echo" and would see what the ECG said.

I have had some issues with a fast pulse and palpitations and shortness of breath (could be as I get so exhausted with the RA and hard to move about) My pulse was ok on it today, 75 I think, which is good and quite low for me, it was 110 when resting last week. I've had it mentioned my heart rate is quite fast for a long while now. Blood pressure is fine, never had high blood pressure.

They send it through to someone while I was there (hospital I assume) and seemed to be ok which is good, said something about non-specific waves - no idea what they are but didn't sound like a problem so that's a relief.

If there was an issue with my heart it would have shown something on the ECG or blood pressure and such wouldn't it? Just hoping for a bit of reassurance.

Yes....any cardiac abnormality severe enough to cause oedema would show up on ECG.

Thank you so so much.

Much as I want to find out what is causing it and get rid of it, there is something scary about heart things (and I was an idiot and googled after seeing renal).

Very much appreciated.
