I really wanna go as Harley for Comic Con Boston but my Mom isn't sure if she's gonna let me. How can I convince her? I've already planned on paying for the costume and I don't normally wear things like this.

Your best bet will be to show her some of the Comic Con Forums where people post pics of themselves and discuss costuming so she can see exactly what Comic Con is and the type of people who attend and hopefully that will alleviate any doubts she has about the nature both of the event and why you are choosing that sort of costume. Keep it calm and friendly and let her join in the excitement of it including choosing costume for her too. I'm sure you'll look great.
Rinn, check out this site (It's a steampunk blog I love). The writer Jen has just come back from Dragoncon and she always tries to make her costumes as the people there really appreciate and comment on the effort that it takes to create an individual piece - Especially at Comic Con :-)

Why not spend some time with your mom in the lead up to Comic Con and have a go at making your own individual Harley costume? It would probably work out cheaper and be more fun. If you scroll through her blog she has loads of design ideas and has photo's of loads of costume at con's.
All the best and hope you have a great time in Boston!
