a pill question
6 Answers
What would happen if halfway through your 7 day break you decided you didn't want your period so you started taking the pill again, would you be protected?
I'm asking because my friend has just done this and I've told her that I don't think she's covered but she reckons she is! I've also said she may have a bleed anyway but I'm not sure about that! Anyone know?
Thanks in advance!

If it is, and he's not her long term boyf then whether she's covered by pill or not should be academic as she shouldn't be having unprotected sex anyway!
I think she will probably have a period/bleed of some kind. Everything has usually kicked off after a couple of days off the pill, like a train you can't stop it.
On the protection front - in the 7 day break when you don't take your pill, you can have unprotected sex and are still protected from pregnancy as there is no egg there to be fertilised at that point. I don't see why this would change if she started taking the pill again halfway through. So in conclusion I THINK she will still be protected from pregnancy but she is likely to have some kind of a period anyway.
