Just a couple of points to help us to help you:
1. Please take care to post in the correct section. (You've posted in 'Food & Drink', whereas I suspect that you wanted either 'Crosswords' or 'Quizzes & Puzzles'). That way more people are likely to see you question ;
2. Please give us some idea of what your question relates to. Is it, for example, a crossword (and, if so, have you got any letters filled in yet)? Or is it a quiz (and, if so, is there a theme to the answers).
All I can think of at the moment is that 'carrot-top' probably means that one of the words is 'ginger' but it would probably be easier to go further with a little more information from you.

>>>top of a carrot is green, chris
Well, I can't argue with that Svejk but 'carrot-top' is also used to refer to someone with ginger hair.
As before, it would help to know the theme of the quiz (if that's what it is) but, if (for example) we're seeking someone's name, 'Solomon' could give us 'Wiseman'.
