I thought you had to be available for work at all times whilst on benefits? I know I was - the 5 months I was unemployed. She is abusing the benefits system. I wish I could afford to go abroad on my pension!

im away, ;0

I don't think comparison with P S is right but she's had more than her 15 minutes of fame, so is on a par with, er um, comm'on help me out here people,
She's milking her fifteen minutes of fame, if she has defrauded the benefits system then I am pretty sure she will get caught out (she's hardly being sneaky about it). But then some people would hate to miss the opportunity to give people receiving benefits a good old kicking.

Ofcourse theyre are benefit worthies but Dee isnt one. Nor is my todays client & 6m preggars partner that used our toilet to snort up at TPayers expense.

Methinks the TPs are the ones being kicked.

As always.
Well, maybe at Dee's next Benefit review the DWP will have a rethink - they have had ample time now, she is not secretive after all.
I don't think, though I could be wrong, that sickness benefit is 'means tested'. so you could have millions in the bank and still receive them.
You're right, Svejk, incapacity benefit, disability living allowance and the new equivalents aren't means tested, but this woman also gets housing and council tax benefits which are means tested.
I thought that. I have a mate who won quite a bit on the lottery and kept receiving his sick pay. As you say, he lost his HB and Council Tax allowance.
There's a famous case of a multi-millionaire, one of the leading NH horse owners, who receives £160 a week and claims a)he's entitled to it b)he gives it to a family member who 'needs it'.
