A Quick Question (Important)

My sisters ex husband has been threatening her, my father (to 'break his legs') and my sisters 'new boyfriend' for 2 months.
We have recorded voice messages and text messages of him saying he will do lots of (not pleasant) violent actions.
He was stopped seeing his kids as he uses copious amounts of cocaine.
The day before the incident I will ask about, he left a text message to my sister saying basically 'he's not playing around any more' then stayed outside her house from 4am for a couple of hours in his car.
The same day he went to my fathers house and threatened him (the police were called).
He was told many times he was not welcome near the kids or my family and persisted to threaten, harass and verbally abuse them.
The day my sister went to get an injunction warning sent to him he appeared at my business smelling of alcohol (when he knew my sister and the kids were there) threatening my father and shouting,
I told him to get out 3 times before my father started to push him out by his chest and a friend also started to push him out.
Nearer the door he began pushing my dad back and in a moment of genuine instinct and fear for my father I pushed him with both my hands as hard as I could to the face - he fell down outside the doors of my establishment.
We then rang the police while he proceeded to drink a can of lager outside of our building and now I have had a call from the police saying he has a broken jaw and may be pressing charges and also a text from him after threatening my dad again and gloating about how he will get compensation from this incident.
Does this have any weight? it seems nonsensical.

Did the police attend after the incident, and if so what did they do - did they arrest him ? If so, is he claiming you broke his jaw, or the police ?
Has your sister got the injunction ? If so why can't he be prosecuted for breaking it ?
On the face of it you appear to have a good case for self-defence plea, but you do need expert legal advice as already stated, not opinionated internet amateurs like me.

I have kept the messages,
The police attended (did not test his alcohol level), and basically said since he had been pushed out after coming to my business to cause a scene, they were happy to just send him on his way.
Her solicitor told her after the letter had been sent out he had to break it with in a 7 day period for the injuction to take effect,
this was the day of the letter being sent out.
Thank you guys,
He is still threatening to 'train' and then 'come after' my father and
trying to hold my sister to ransom saying if she doesn't let him see the kids he will press charges in so many words.

On the sectioning front (more so just to add clarity to his character),
he locked himself in a flat the other week convinced people were coming to 'get him',
surrounded himself with weapons and phoned my sister screaming for help,
This was because he had been ejected from a house party for being violent and was convinced they were coming to get back at him.
He also has been driving around in a hired car (the money for his children's food), telling people it's hired, then telling the same people it's his because he's loaded,
and he also got ejected from his mothers home the other week because he screamed at her and his father and beat up his brother (although of course they wouldn't testify to this if asked but I'm sure there will be text messages of this.)
