As Above.

Yes and yes .
Ours was caught fiddling his expenses.
Funnily enough though he's still there .
Waste of public money .Gravy train for failed politicians and local councillors who couldn't quite make the grade .
I would have thought that anyone with a brain would have recognised that the answers to the above would be "yes" and "yes" when this crackpot idea was proposed! Purely another layer of expensive offficialdom at our expense!!

Ah righto, lj, happy motoring.
Do you mean "Police and Crime Commissioners". If so, they are there to make sure the Chief Constables do their jobs properly and also maintain, raise and issue funds to their local police force.
Perhaps their performance could be reviewed every few years but by whom I don't know.
Who watches the watchers?
They do seem to get quite a large salary though.
in one word answer YES.
What SD said.

Yes, and Yes again,
This is our Diva,
Ann Barnes, notorious for employing a foul-mouthed teenager as her youth adviser, has spent almost £200,000 on moving her office less than two miles, and only revealed the costs after an investigation by The Mail on Sunday.

no. I doubt they cost more than the old system and at least they can be voted out, unlike the old 'commissions'. so you lot get some say in how you want local policing to go. the fact you were all too lazy or stupid to vote is hardly their fault.
and there was nothing wrong with that young lady who was hounded out of her job by a load of old fuddy-duddies. she was there to represent youth not a load of OAPs.
