Never heard of it....
if wishes were horses beggars would ride, was the original saying. I suppose it means wishing on its own won't change anything.

Not necessarily. I think it means wishing on its own isn't enough to get you what you want.

Lol, i get what you mean as earlier it took me ages to work out how to find my question to see whether i had an answer or not. Great idea!
