Pictures On A Disc

I hope anyone can help me a problem that I have with some photos that I downloaded onto a disc when I was using Windows XP, but now I'm on Windows 7 I can't open them so my question is, is there any program I can use to open them.

Well it won't be the swop from XP to Win7 that changed things.
Maybe the files have corrupted, I trust they are backed up.
What is the file extension ? Are you using the same programme to try to open them ?

How are you trying to open the pictures? Are you using a picture-viewing program, and going to File > Open (and if so, which one)? Or are you simply double-clicking on them in the hope that something will open them? What actually happens when you try to open them? (Do you get an error message? Does the disk simply keep on spinning in its drive? Or does absolutely nothing at all happen?). Can you open other image files normally?

I suspect that the problem lies with incompatibility between the disc and your drive. If possible, try opening them on someone else's computer (or borrow an external drive). If that works you'll then be able to copy them to a fresh disk (or to another storage medium, such as a USB memory stick). However if you're also experiencing problems opening other image files, then simply using a decent image viewer might solve the problem. That basically means anything except the pathetic rubbish that Microsoft provides with Windows, but this is particularly good:
