Computer Games For Disabled And Deaf

We have bought my disabled sister in law a laptop computer. She gets on really well with sending emails and we can now Skype her. She needs simple games to keep her busy. We have tried Patients and similar but she gets bored, and needs something just a bit more interesting. I have trawled the internet but can't find anything suitable. Does anyone have any suggestions please? She is deaf too!! But can lip read.

lots of different sorts, most you get to try free for an hour different types, puzzles, match 3 , hidden object etc best deal is join the game club at under £6 per month as you can download one game a month and get discounts on the others. Lots of the old favourites like bejewelled and poppit

I am a massive fan of Hidden object games, and would recommend them to anyone. Most have a storyline involving 'this is the issue, you need to get 'A' and 'B' to restore peace to this land...' type of thing, the introductions and following commentary are rarely un-subtitled (I often play late at night if I can't sleep with the sound off so not to wake my OH) so you always know whats going on.
Then you have to solve puzzles and find objects within various scenes - the difficulty rating is listed on the box, for an adult I would go for a 12+ as the puzzles are a bit more difficult. You can get them really cheap on ebay, or in Morrisons for £3-£7. My recommendations are:Asylum Conspiracy, 20,000 leagues under the sea, Ravenhurst, Haunted Halls etc. If she tries one I'll bet she gets hooked as the graphics are great in most :-)

It is a kids site so you know everything is safe. Sometimes you only get a few of the levels as it is all free but the games are pretty good x

Black_51. She has cerebral palsy, and is a little jumpy when she uses the mouse pad. She needs a game aimed at young children. She would be no good on Facebook. It really needs to be free too. Although I wouldn't mind paying if I thought it would keep her entertained.

It depends what sort of thing she is into? Google children’s games and what she likes and see what comes up. I have a friend with learning difficulties who really enjoys Wordjong, it is a word game along the lines of scrabble, it has many different levels, in 13 months my friend has gone from the basic level to mid way and is really pleased with her progress. My friend plays it on a Nintendo DS but I know it’s available on line I think it’s a free download but don’t quote me on that! Hope she finds something of interest. No idea if this will be useful only skimmed the article
