Because these workers are probably being paid about 50p per hour. Either that or the Company are being paid some kind of subsidy to employ these people.

my experience of the polish workers is that they do work harder but give them a few years and we will soon have them anglicised then they will be lazy sods too and can moan about how the next intake work too hard etc. etc. etc.....
