I recently watched a party political broadcast on behalf of the English Democratic Party, and was rather impressed with what they said.

It is time we had a party that will speak for the English, could this be a true alternative to the UKIP or the BNP when voting in the European elections?

Well I agree, but tho there are many people who would also probably agree, rather than waste the vote they will still go for the morer preferable of the big 2.

What struck me was when was it filmed - bright sunshine. Must have been last summer surely.

They're interesting but at the end of the day they're yet another single interest party with a lot to say about one or two issues.

Ask about their economic policy and they'll probably just talk in vague terms about "fair deals" or the "independance of the pound" (although probably less of the latter since the exchange rate dropped).

Personally I'd want to be represented by a party that actually has a firm grip on all the issues.

Yes good idea but with the plethora of similar like minded parties it will only diffuse the message and be self defeating. I notice that in by-elections the number of candidates can now exceed 20, far too many. Maybe its time they increased the standing fee to remove some of the frivolous candidates.

Jakes point about choosing independent parties with a small manifesto as wasteful fails to mention Richard Taylor of Wye Forest who campaigned solely on saving his local district hospital from closure. Not only was he elected in a general election but held onto his seat the following election. Martin Bell also campaigned against Neil Hamilton and won. Therefore if you can turn a single issue into a topical one it would have much support.

Yes when one reads what I said it does seem that I was being very nasty and also almost racist, but I was so annoyed by sp's line.

sp regularly has digs at whites classing them white supremacist, yet is forever promoting black issues.

He will defend anyone black no matter what heinous actions they are accused of, but doesn't act in a similar way towards anyone white.

But as you can see by Quinlad's remarks I am regularly expected to take on board without comment, not only insults but bare face lies on a regular basis from certain posters on this site.
