Its no good buying a printer just because its the cheapest. The main thing to consider is the cost of replacement ink cartridges which can cost up to 40 ea.for black and colour unless you can buy compatibles. For this reason Epson is the best choice and at the moment an excellent model the C44X is widely available at about 30.
Dodgyshirt, you took the words from my mouth. We recently bought an Epson Stylus C42 printer & only a few weeks I later saw the same model at nearly half the price! When I asked why it had been reduced by so much, I was told 'strictly off the record' that they needed to make the prices more inviting for more people to buy them - but & a very big but - once the printers are purchased & used, you are committed to paying exorbitant prices for their ink cartridges! It's such a scam & these suppliers ought to be brought to task, just like the mobile phone companies - cheap phones, exorbitant call costs!
