Giant snails

Someone gave me two giant snails when they were baby snails. They are now normal size (like you find in the garden) and I don't want them anymore. I've been told you can't release them as they are pests and I don't know what to do with them. I'm not going to kill them, what can I do?

I think you may have giant African land snails, its just possible a pet shop might take them off your hands, also they probably require a controlled tempreture too.

You must not release them as they would not survive. If a pet shop will not take them why not put an advert in the local free ads newspaper. You may also be able to find an internet site that offers pets but please take care that whoever you let have them knows how to look after them. They may only be snails, but they are living creatures and by taking them on you have a responsibility to treat them correctly.

If you are anywhere near Norfolk I would be able to take them.

a snail is for life not just for christmas.have you considered destroying them ,drop them in the chip pan its over in an instant and far less cruel than slug pellets.

offer them to a primary school, I am sure a class of kids would love them.

Some garlic, basil and butter in a pan.. maybe some spring onions.
Followed by a nice chicken in white wine sauce with new potatoes.
