Groom's Speech!!

Ok, so I need to say a few words at our reception on Friday, I am the groom
Any advice, or suggestions on what to include?
I want to keep it fairly short, sincere and maybe the odd joke (but I dont want to tumbleweeds blowing across the room!!) I guess most of it will be in the delivery!

How good is your public speaking ? Just keep it brief and simple, don't find any skeletons anywhere, just thank your family and friends ! Good luck xx

You could start off with, ''its a very emotional day for me, even the cake is in tears''!!

Look across the room!!! (Make it obvious you are speaking)
Get every bodies attention.
Say some thing warm and friendly.
Then Bull$#1t your heart out.
Then thank them for listening.

jd - don't do jokes. Not everyone gets them. Just thank everyone for coming, from "my wife and I" (which always gets a cheer). There's plenty of advice on the interweb about groom speeches.

I can't believe your wedding is Friday, and you haven't written it yet!

Or just say
"Thank you for your presence and presents." and sit down.
