Ok, so I need to say a few words at our reception on Friday, I am the groom
Any advice, or suggestions on what to include?
I want to keep it fairly short, sincere and maybe the odd joke (but I dont want to tumbleweeds blowing across the room!!) I guess most of it will be in the delivery!
Look across the room!!! (Make it obvious you are speaking)
Get every bodies attention.
Say some thing warm and friendly.
Then Bull$#1t your heart out.
Then thank them for listening.
:-)
All the best.....Good luck.
Ask your bride to stand up and present her hand to you (palm up). Put your hand on top of hers' and proudly announce to everyone, "I guess this the last time I will ever have the upper hand".
jd - don't do jokes. Not everyone gets them. Just thank everyone for coming, from "my wife and I" (which always gets a cheer). There's plenty of advice on the interweb about groom speeches.
I can't believe your wedding is Friday, and you haven't written it yet!
There are absolutely swarms of books on the subject. Visit the Public Library Quick.
Or just say
"Thank you for your presence and presents." and sit down.
