bronchial asthma / exacerbated asthma

a man suffering from the disease bronchial asthma. Can this also be described as exacerbated asthma i.e for example a possible asthmatic condition exposed to coal dust working underground for some 20 yrs? If so, are there any medical discussion papers / ref. books on the subject ? many thanks.

Exacerbation of a condition is usually an acute attack rather than a causative effect. If you are attempting to claim compensation, medics would also look at other causative factors such as smoking when determining your claim. A good place to seek out further information may be from the British Lung Foundation.
