Can anyone remember the name of the material (like two-tone) that changed colour depending on light and where you were stood?

I believe that it was spelt Tonik and was (is) quite and expensive brand of mohair suiting...

btw i was definitely a rocker, but hippy stylee, not a greaser

Tonic or Tonic is the name of the material.It was a Trade mark of a cloth company called Dormeauil or close to that name.The cloth is still made by that company however the proper irridecent tonic is not.The usual material was a wool and mohair mix.I know this as i used to be a skinhead.And very recently had a suit made in the material and travelled the whole country to find it.

Stuart is exactly right - although I'm not sure about the spelling of Dormeuill either. I remember Trevira as well - it was the cheaper imitation version. Stuart, where did you manage to get the stuff? - I'm an old skinhead myself and I'd love to get a suit length of it..-
