UKIP did very well considering the amount of negative publicity they had (though this does get exaggerated - UKIP had plenty of positive coverage too).

They seem to do fine without. If they want to do well, they might look to controlling their members a bit more - but they haven't cared about it before now so I see no reason for them to start.

I suspect that when UKiP double their number of MEPs on the Euro Gravy train they might be able to afford a publicist or two.

to be fair, they've increased their numbers substantially - and they've also exceeded most (all?) predictions.

Let's just hope they can keep them - they've lost quite a large proportion of the councillors that were elected in 2013.

Brionon...you are right of course ! No Councils, no MPs...just a minor Party, albeit one that seems to growing.

Isn't it ironic that this morning, all the media are bigging up UKIP, despite all the arithmetic evidence above, instead of asking the Tories why they have lost so badly !

They had about 5 seats before, now they have over 100 and counting. statistically that's a huge swing. from nothing to thrashing the rest. It may not be within your perception to realise the magnitude of this but the media do.

to be fair YMB I think the brighter ones do realise this is a kicking and are keeping quiet ish. This is akin to Mike Tyson's mates telling everyone how good he is after being knocked out by Julian Clary. He's still the champ!

However, what the right fail to grasp is that unless this translates to General Election votes, this gains made by UKIP aren't going to make a load of difference to politics in this country.
