The reviews on Lakeland's own website are generally very good: http://www.lakeland.co.uk/AllProductReviews.action?productId=3440&productName=Electric%2520Yoghurt%2520Maker Reassuringly, Lakeland don't seem to have 'pulled' any bad reviews but if you'd rather read reviews on an independent site, take a look at Amazon: Amazon.co.uk User...
I know several people who have the EasiYo maker, and they all love it. As far as I know, you can also make yogurt in the traditional way in it without using the packets. I may try it myself.
The problem with the Easio method is it is quite expensive compared to buying a pot of natural yoghurt as a starter. once you have the starter to make your first batch you then just keep back a couple of spoonfulls of each batch to make the next one. so the only cost from then on is the milk. I often used the Easio flask but would never buy the Easio powder mix.
