Am thinking about retiring soon. Just wondered what you lovely retired folks do when you are not on answer bank.

Loads of interesting replies, thanks so much for responding. Both Mr Puzz and myself are fit and healthy, so perhaps I should go for it.
Oh if you can....then do....with the right mindset it's great!......x
Watch your finances, plan your days, take holidays and visit new places, or even take a small part-time job. There will be time enough to spend more time at home when you are much older. Enjoy your freedom, the world is your lobster ....or whatever.
Don't even think about charity work, like in charity shops, until you've been retired at least 6 months. The jobs are easy to get into but you feel very guilty if you decide to leave.
After 6 months you'll find you don't have time for them anyway.
I agree Graham-w, my oldest cousin ran a charity shop for many years for the RSPCA, she also held coffee mornings with raffles etc at the local community hall for them with two or three volunteers. She's now 85 and for the last two years has been trying to get someone to take over for her, but there are no takers. She feels bad about leaving but her husband is ill and she has to spend time with him.
