No medic can force treatment on the patient - e.g. an injection against one's will is an "assault on the body" and illegal.
This does not apply to people who have to be medically restrained via
intra-muscular tranquilliser.
However re children. The JW's parents might object but if the child's life is at risk he/she would quickly be made a ward of court and given the transfusion.
I don't understand why a JW should cut himself off from his family even if judging them sinners, indeed they seek out sinners don't they?
Burial defo should be cheap cardboard box incineration (mine will be) but if he wants to feed the worms why not a vertical burial - upside-down to recognise his life's upside-down logic.
Good luck,

Dear cazdee,
This cutting oneself off from one's family is news to me about the JW's.
If it is typical due to their beliefs, as opposed to your son's unique character, then I certainly echo beso's condemnation of the JW's as a bad cult and wish you well in what must be like a bereavement.
On a lighter note, I could understand people and even family cutting themselves off from GL as he appears beyond reasoning:).
So many religious people in society go about their lives quietly and are good people. What a pity that religious fanatical groups and cults recruit the susceptible ones and cause things to go awry.
Best wishes,
SIQ.

A news and special projects for a television station in the United States wrote to Jehovah’s Witnesses in response to a biased report about the Witnesses on the TV news show 60 Minutes. He said: “If more people lived the way your faith does, this nation wouldn’t be in the shape it is in. I am one newsman who knows that your organization is founded on love and a strong faith in the Creator. I want you to know that not all News people are as biased.”

I have a family member who is a JW, and she is a darling and never cut herself off from the family - albeit - she does not recognise birthdays or Christmas we can all live with that. I am not a JW but two ladies visit me quite often and nicer people you will not meet - at least they knock on peoples doors the talk about their religion - reminds me of somebody else in the bible.
