If you are in a toy shop and you press the button on a toy which then makes all sorts of strange noises is it better...
To pretend you never pressed it in the first place
Bear with it and pretend you pressed it because you might actually buy it
Or do what i normally do and walk away as quickly as possible and hope the song/voice ends asap

Yes blame the nearest people walking away. In Milton Keynes market I once pressed a button on a singing fish 'Bertie Bass' thinking it wouldn't work, and there it was singing away twitching it's tail 'Gone Fishin' the stallholder watched me do it and I hadn't realised it was his stall, so embarrassed.
