Sometime ago I was told that there was an Ap to show if you were within range of WIFI. I now have an IPad. Can anyone please tell me how I can get that Ap

Your ipad will automatically tell you when try to access Safari. Or you can go into settings and then Wifi. Can't really see why you would need an app. Unless someone knows otherwise.

BT have an app for their customers to show if you're in range of any of over 5 million of BT 's Hot Spots.
My iPad acts as stated by Sycamore3House - no App needed.
Dicmor, if you go anywhere where there is free wifi (coffee shops, pubs, relatives) log on to their wifi & then next time you visit it will be stored ready if use. Only dodgy one I know is Weatherspoons which comes up with their all adverts.
I have downloaded the wi-fi finder app. Haven't actually used it but it might be worth a look.
I prefer to use the wifi hotspot facility on my phone when I'm out and about - more secure.
