I was impressed to see a fellow ABer being congratulated for achieving 1000 best answers and was further impressed to discover that she has never asked a question! A very generous individual indeed! Similarly there are posters who only ever ask but never give answers in any category.

It made me think about my motivation for being on AB and the other posters some of which are clearly givers and takers.

I think I give and take in fairly equal measure, how would you categorise yourself?

In other words, measuring answers versus questions is meaningless, that's my conclusion.....however, to never ask a question is impressive (or stoopid)

A lot of questions - especially in jokes and CB (such as mamya's thread) are more for entertaining people than needing help with something - so hard to judge. Anyway, AB would be rubbish without any questions...:-)

To answer your question Eccles, I came across AB while stuck on a crossword clue. I enjoy doing crosswords and puzzles and obviously am a giver, although I have been helped courtesy of advice or answers given to other posters and also had my spirits lifted by reading threads posted by Gness and Mrs O, for example.

I certainly don't think I (or anyone else) can be judged as a 'know it all' (or stoopid ;-)) for not asking any questions.
