Kill All Drug Dealers And Addicts?

Is this the way to eradicate the problem that has taken over the lives of many? Just a thought, or how else can it be solved or controlled? Oh reckons supplying heroin on the NHS will stop the dealers, I say take it further....any thoughts on the subject?

You still haven't answered why this affects you so much. Maybe if you explained why you are so outraged about druggies and dealers people could understand your proposed solution better. Do you actually encounter druggies on a daily basis, have they affected your life in some way?

I'd certainly legalise pot(or whatever they call it now) like some of the states in America have done.
This would free up vast sums of money and amounts of police time that could be invested in, perhaps, more serious drug problems.
And it might remove the 'gateway' to harder drugs, if you believe in it.

Generally, if the UK can impose £10000 fines on miscreant drivers, albeit Ferrari drivers and sons of oligarchs, then we can do the same with drug dealers - double or treble the sentences. As to the addicts, more of the same as to education early on, counselling and genuine rehabilitation, though a lot of the issues would be partly resolved by tackling some of the abject poverty in this country. With an economy beginning to bounce, this is one of the key areas that should be tackled by the coalition or whatever the future government looks like.

Sherra I did answer inasmuch that there was this discussion on this subject and lots of ideas of how to eradicate the problem that is blighting not only peoples lives but the country as a whole, re crime et al. It bugs me because nothing is being done to stop the rot, it seems to be growing and will IMO grow to such an extent that I fear for the family ahead. Hence my wishing to hear others views here as I've always found this site enlightening, helpful, funny and friendly. Oh but then that's only if you don't post controversial threads of course because if you do...the mob attacks and everything goes sour. Goodnight.

If you post something which you know to be controversial then you have to expect answers which don't agree with your pint of view. You honestly can't have expected to have everyone agree with you - the majority of us love our children and would want to help them if they got into trouble (as opposed to killing them).

royframus ----I get out and about very often .And for twenty years worked in a hospital helping all kinds of addicts. I have seen at first hand the misery and degredation that addiction can cause. People from all walks of life . And I still say that the source should be eliminated . Yes ,I would advocate death for the dealers .

Perhaps the issue should be tackled at the 'grass roots' first. This is quite a useful website:

More emphasis and resources placed upon tackling the import and UK production of the actual drugs themselves would be the ideal resolution if the government threw all the money they could at it. Without the drug in existence, the dealers and users would have no source.
Education in schools is underrated - More should be done to ensure that youngsters don't get hooked in the first place and if they find themselves addicted, they should be aware that there is help out there to get off the drugs rather than the ever lasting spiral that some drug addicts fall into, and especially HOW to seek help. Most addicts feel helpless and ashamed and continue to use as they feel it is the only way to function - I know support for addicts costs the NHS, but the fact remains that so many are already are addicted and this cannot just be swept under the carpet with a quick fix solution.
Stop the source, educate more, and help those who need it. If we had the answers already wouldn't that be good, but we don't, not just yet and illegal drug use in this country won't just disappear overnight.
