/// References to the court from members of her local community, including the Sunderland Bangladeshi Centre manager, spoke of her being highly thought of and 'polite and courteous'. ///
Why would her 'community' speak so highly on behalf of this cruel, repulsive, and savage ogre?

It may be that the community spoke of their perception of this woman before her crimes came to light - in a similar way that Harold Shipman was a pillar of his community in advance of his crimes being discovered.
The press has rather carefully spun this to appear that a Muslim community admire and condone the behaviour of this harridan, and I would suggest that this is not quite the way in which that information was given.

Obviously because in other aspects of her life she wasn't 'cruel', 'repulsive' or 'ogre'-like. Quite the opposite apparently
That's why labelling people is so dangerous and pointless.
After all, until he was found out, Dr Shipman was a 'kind and considerate GP'.
Afterwards he was an 'evil monster'.
Clearly, in different contexts for different people, he was both.

Andy and Zehul, you may well be right, but then you may both be wrong. I guess we will never know.
The sentence is far too low. Be out in a couple of months no doubt to do it again.
The real worrying statement is this:
//Tom Moran, defending, said Sultana believed her actions were 'discipline she thought they would benefit from academically'
//
One wonders how you rehabilitate such views in such a short time to prevent the same, or worse, occurring.
