How do you get your printer to scan a document and then send it by email

Place document on printer and press scan
Your computer may ask you where you want the document to be saved (mine doesn't, it drops it into documents or downloads)
Compose your email and click the attach button, sometimes looks like a paperclip, this will open the documents folders, find your document annd away you go.

Don't forget to consider whether it's important or not to do this in colour!
If not an issue, then opt for Black & White (greyscale) as the file you are going to email will go that much quicker as it will be a smaller file size.
Without getting in too deep here and you can find the dpi of the document- if there are no important photographs included.....keep the dpi (resolution) on the lower side of 100dpi assuming it's not going to be printed out.
