Email Problem With Mini Ipad

Cannot connect to server. I have been using ipad mini abroad and have just changed my btinternet password and my btinternet account in Settings has always been inactive. Apparently I use internet through Yahoo as it says Yahoo mail, contacts, etc. But I cant remember my Yahoo password so I want to delete the Yahoo account on my ipad for my emails, and use btinternet instead using my btinternet password. Can I do this ? I tried to delete the Yahoo account and it said I would lose all my contacts but if I use the btinternet account surely I would still have all my contacts? Sorry cant explain very well.

Have you checked for networks in settings, when you found one and have the network passkey you can log in. Are you using it abroad now? If so, you will need to find a wifi network to hook up to.

On the right hand side a list of wifi networks will be displayed, some will be secure and you'll need the password. If you have this, tap on the network, it'll ask for the password, enter it and you'll be off and running.

If you have a 3g model then you'll have to contact your provider.

Yes my network account is Yahoo but I cant remember the password, it doesnt seem to be the same as my btinternet password. I am home now. Is it possible to delete the yahoo account without losing anything, and using btinternet as my account ? At least I know my bt password..

you can easily add it as another account.
Go into settings, mail, contacts calendars and choose add account.

have you set up your account on the ipad and did you put your password in? I am confused.

If you are trying to change your default email to a different one you go into settings, Mail contacts calendar (half way down left hand side) then half way down right hand side is Default Account tap on whichever email you wish your default one to be. Your default one is the one set up when you first got your ipad.

My original account is yahoo. I could not remember my password and answered the questions wrongly so could not re set my password. My bt account is in my husbands name and I answered as if it was in my name and didnt realise until I had got the three security questions wrong. I will have to ring them tomorrow. Will my re set password give me my internet back ? I hope they are helpful on the phone !

If your ipad is connected to wifi you can access the internet via safari so I am not sure why you need your email passwords to gain internet access.

You still have internet! its just the password that's the issue. If you didn't have internet, it wouldn't be able to tell you your password was wrong.

I rang bt today, they deleted my yahoo account on the ipad, gave me a new bt password and all is well. Thanks all
