Hand Luggage

I have looked but it's not clear - can you have toothpaste in your hand luggage? Thank you.

Toothpaste is on the banned list here:

However a small tube wouldn't hold more than 100ml, so it would be exempted anyway.

Asda have a really good range of cosmetics and toiletries in 100ml (or smaller) containers, including toothpaste, specifically for people who are travelling by air.

I think it is classed as a liquid so you can have a small toothpaste under 100ml which has to go in the clear bag inside your hand luggage.

Anywhere near a Supadrug? They do travel toothpaste sizes. 20 ml. Likewise deodorant, moisturiser etc. All legal when I went to Paris in April.

Right, I'll take an old tube for everyone to use before we fly and then just chuck it and put the new tube in the proper suitcases. Thank you, it's all a bit complicated (wonder what sort of damage you could do with toothpaste (if you were so inclined)). Hope toothbrushes are allowed :)

I don't think you can do damage with toothpaste - but you can do damage with some liquids that are disguised as toothpaste. As someone has said - all liquids, gels, pastes, creams etc must be in containers no bigger than 100mls, up to a maximum of 1 litre (I think) and packed in a small clear resealable bag which must be kept separate so it can be checked separately.

Our dental hygienist has tiny freebies of toothpaste which are great for carry-on - worth popping to the dentist for!

unless you are going to the middle of the desert, i would imagine you'll be able to get toothpaste wherever you are going

ps i don't think it's cumpulsory to brush teeth before you get on a plane - perhaps you could just do it before you leave home?

We are staying at Gatwick the night before we fly so everyone will want to clean their teeth.

most big supermarkets in the USA (Walmart, Kmart, CPS etc) sell trial-and-travel sizes of things like toothpaste.

Don't put in suit-case. All liquids, gels, paste need to be in clear plastic sealable bag for checking. Thanks Supadrug. Made everything simple for me.

you can put as much as you like in your checked luggage, only 100ml in your carry-on bags.

It's not 100 ml, it's containers no bigger than 100 ml. You can take quite a few of them, Im pretty sure it's up to a litre.
