I have posted this is Travel, but will also post here. Genital warts are spreading like wildfire over here, so please take precautions and take care if having sex. And, no I do not have them!!

Apparently they have overtaken chlamydia in UK for most commom std too!

Thanks but I think you'll find there's a lot more to worry about than warts if you have unprotected sex with someone you meet on holiday

absolutely Frankie Babe, far worse to worry about. I don't think condoms offer good protection against warts anyway? maybe someone will correct me. Always living dangerously having sex with random people-protected or otherwise.

Frankie it's surprising that the warts are the most prevalent right now, and of course, are always present in the blood. Yes of course, AIDS et al are more important, so hopefully people will use condoms and thus be a bit protected. I've just heard of soo many youngsters over here now with warts, but not (luckily with AIDS),

present in the blood? Am I missing something, I thought they could only be spread through skin to skin contact? It is important to remember that warts do not have to be visible to be spread, so just because you cant see them-doesn't mean your prospective partner could not pass them on to you.

Genital warts is a type of HPV virus. (Human Papilloma Virus), there are about 60-100 different strands of the virus, and yes it is very common. I was recently tested for everything several weeks ago, and being a hypocondriac, I read about every possible STD and STI in great detail. Thank God my results were all negative, but I was a totall wreck for 3 weeks worrying about it. Too many people think they are invinsable, and you don't have to be a ***** to get something. A friend of mine slept with 17 men and has never gotten an STD, and my other friend slept with 2 guys and she ended up getting Gonorea. It's the luck of the draw.
