Tesco & o2 Mobile

I have a contract phone with Tesco Mobile and unfortunately the phone is on the blink! If I bought a new phone on O2 would the tesco sim card still work?

If the phone was unlocked yes

Tesco dont have their own phone network, they use the o2 network.
I have swapped tesco sim to an o2 phone whick was locked and it worked fine with no problems.
