How long can we hold out without getting involved in some way? When even the Iranians dont like an extremist group then we have a problem. Couple that with the fact there are hundreds of British brainwashed militants who will return home, many to reign terror in the name of Islam on us I think we may have to reconsider our stance.
It's going to be a very difficult call, but the longer we leave it if we do decide to do something about it then it can only get more difficult.

The Royal Navy will have some form of deployment in the Gulf no doubt. The Intelligence services will already be on heightened alert and I would imagine their will be increased activity at RAK Akrotiri, as well as at Incirlik.

But will that be enough?

More than enough. It'll be aerial operations only for US/UK Forces in all probability, Hellfire and Predator/Raptor activity with the odd strafing mission.
It will be important though for Iraqi government forces to take the lead or be seen to take it, more than ably backed up by Coalition forces.
